Even though you can see all kinds of videos on TikTok in these days they all have one thing in common – music. Music producers and labels are able to distribute music to TikTok app. Users can then use those tracks in their TikTok videos.

This is why music is always present when using TikTok. It is also the number one reason why the app is so popular. People wants to share their favorite songs express themselves.

Get your music distributed to TikTok

Firs thing to do is to distribute your music to TikTok. When you distribute music to TikTok all users can use your music in their videos.

Once you have uploaded and distributed your music you can search them on TikTok. It can takes several days or even a week(s) before they appear on TikTok so be patience!

The most obvious thing to do to get more exposure to your music is to become a TikTok influencer. TikTok’s algorithms are still very favourable so you are able to get a lot of organic reach.

For example, one of my TikTok video got over 60k views even though I had less than 200 followers. You would never get that much organic reach on any other social media.

If you want to succeed on TikTok you should upload videos daily. This might sound a lot, but videos on TikTok are currently pretty raw. What I mean by this is that videos does not need to be edited at all and you should not worry too much about the content.

Use other influencers for TikTok music marketing

There are not many opportunities to advertise on TikTok right now but you can use other influencers to do this. Search influencer who make similar music or content than you and ask them if they could do a shout out, for example.

If you have a decent following on TikTok you can trade shout outs. This way you both benefit from each other and you get more exposure.

If you are willing to spend some money you can get huge TikTok influencers to promote your music. Because there are not really ads on TikTok right now many influencers are willing to do shout outs for money.

You can ask other influencers to:

  • promote your song
  • promote your TikTok account
  • make a TikTok challenge using your song
  • promote your other social media sites

If you decide to spend some money, you need to find the best influencers for you so you don’t waste your money. For example, if you are trying to sell your music or beats you want to find influencers who’s audiences are willing to spend money.

If the audience mostly consist of young people they may have not to spend.  And It’s not just about the money you should be worry about. You really need to identify your target audience and find influencers with similar audiences.

Pay attention especially to the age of the audience, languages they speak, what are their interests and in which countries do they live.

TikTok is still a relatively new social media and you should definitely try it out. However, things will surely change is 2020 and TikTok will become more competitive platform.

This will lower the organic reach and ads will become more important factor when it comes to getting new followers and views. That’s why you should try to grow your audience now when it’s easier.
